Giving education with a school partnership
Many families and specially single parents (divorced or widowed) cannot afford the visit of a good school for their children. We have specified the earning of a porter as an example to show how difficult or impossible it is to buy school clothes.
We like to support these children in particular and give them education, in order that they stand a chance to break off the poverty trap. If these children manage to get a good school graduation with a subsequent apprenticeship, their parents and children will have a better life. They can support their family. There is no pension scheme in India. Children are responsible for their parents. The complete school attendance and further measures can be financed with an amount of 250 Euro per annum (about 21 Euro per month).
The 250 Euro cover:
School material:
· School uniform and shoes
· School books, writing materials, other course materials
· Proportionate costs for teacher wages
Parent mentoring:
· Information evenings concerning hygiene, health care, alimentation
Medical care:
· Regular medical checkups
· Medical costs
· Costs of drugs
