Nepali Essay Competition
A Nepali competition took place on August 7th. It was organized by the „Nepali Sahitya Sammelan“ organization, which also arranged the „Bhanu Jayanti“ celebrations. Two male students and one female student from St. Anthony’s School participated in this essay competition.
Trip to Science City
On August 9, some students took a trip to Science City in Siliguri. There, they were able to conduct numerous experiments and marvel at physical phenomena. Everyone also really enjoyed the visit to the swimming pool.
Independence Day
As it does every year, St. Anthony’s School celebrated Independence Day on August 15th with numerous performances in the schoolyard.

Bhanu Jayanti
Bhanu Jayanti is an annual festival held on July 13th that honors the birthday of the Nepalese poet Bhanubhakta Acharya (1814–1868) and recognizes his contributions to the Nepalese language and literature. Our school participated in cleaning the Bhanu Bhakta statue on July 12th. On July 13th, the students celebrated Bhanu Jayanti with performances during the official event at the statue.
Aranya Saptah
From awareness to action, every step counts. In Darjeeling, too, Aranya Saptah stands for a green West Bengal. Aranya Saptah was celebrated under the theme „One Tourist, One Tree,“ because every visit should leave behind a greener tomorrow. Our students interviewed passersby and encouraged them to plant a tree.
Holiday Project
„Time is not measured by the hours we spend, but by what we create during those hours.“
This summer break, our principal set the students a special challenge—not merely a holiday assignment, but a lesson for life.
The goal was simple: to convey the true value of time. He wanted them to realize that holidays are not just for relaxation, but also offer an opportunity to learn, create something new, and discover their hidden potential.
The students‘ response was truly heartwarming. They transformed simple ideas into remarkable creations. Some built impressive, functional models, while others presented innovative concepts—including a wind-powered ship that beautifully illustrated how clean energy can shape the future.
As our principal viewed their projects, he saw more than just models and diagrams; he witnessed imagination, dedication, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence taking shape. Each project told a story of patience, curiosity, and the meaningful use of time.
These young people reminded us all: when children are encouraged to think, explore, and create, there are no limits to what they can achieve.
Our principal is incredibly proud of every single student who took on this challenge and turned the holidays into a journey of learning and innovation. May they continue to cherish the value of time, dream fearlessly, and shape a better future for themselves and society.

Dance Competition
To help our students overcome stage fright, we organize monthly competitions at our school. The primary purpose of these events is to build confidence and encourage our students to perform fearlessly on stage.
This month, the Dance Competition took place. Our principal and teachers were truly impressed by the talent, energy, and enthusiasm of our students. Their self-confidence, creativity, and wonderful performances made the event unforgettable.
World Environment Day
To mark World Environment Day, students from St. Anthony’s School took part in efforts to beautify Darjeeling. They collected litter and planted flowers and fruit tree saplings on both the school and railway station grounds.
Our students were filled with enthusiasm and determination to spread a powerful message: „Cleanliness is next to godliness.“ Darjeeling is our home, and it is high time for us all to seriously consider keeping our beautiful city clean and preserving its natural charm for future generations.
To raise public awareness, our young and talented students came up with the wonderful idea of presenting a street play at the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway station. Through their creativity, confidence, and teamwork, they emphasized the importance of cleanliness and responsible citizenship.
Football World Cup
The joy on their faces, the excitement in their voices, and the sportsmanship they displayed made the event truly special. Good news from our graduating students of 2025! Every year, following the final exams at St. Anthony’s School in December, our students sit for the official Indian school-leaving examination at a partner school the following March. This year, too, all of our students passed the official „Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Class X)“ examination with excellent results.
Mother’s Day
As they do every year, our students celebrated Mother’s Day once again this year. Celebrating Mother’s Day at St. Antony’s School was a day filled with love, emotion, laughter, tears, and unforgettable memories.
The smiles on the mothers‘ faces along with the children’s performances, heartfelt poems, beautiful dances, and touching skits made the entire atmosphere both emotional and magical. Many parents could not hold back their tears as they watched their children express their love and gratitude.

Athletics Competition
In May, an athletics competition took place in Darjeeling. Several students from St. Anthony’s School also participated.
March 2026
At the beginning of March, school uniforms were distributed to all students. The lower grades received new tables and chairs.
February 2026
The 2026 school year started on February 23rd
The first day of school began at 8:30 a.m. with the ringing of the bell. The students waited in the front schoolyard. A ribbon was cut at the entrance, and confetti was thrown. All the students were warmly welcomed by the teachers and our headmaster with a small treat. It was a wonderful start to the day.
Afterward, everyone went to the assembly hall, where the year’s motto, „Practice Makes Perfect,“ was introduced. A motivational video was shown to encourage the students to practice diligently and consistently. Our headmaster gave an inspiring speech, encouraging the students to overcome their fears and work on their weaknesses.
Following this, the students went to their respective classrooms, where regular lessons began. The day marked a promising and motivating start to the new school year.
Drawing Competition
The first monthly art competition of the school year took place on February 27th. The drawing competition was held at the Lawyer Botanical Garden in Darjeeling. Students from grades 4 through 10 participated in the outing. They began by painting, followed by time to play. Everyone brought something for lunch, which they then shared at a picnic.
Green Friday
On the same day, the recurring „Green Friday“ project also took place. The students collected trash and explained the project to interested passersby.
